About Hope House Addiction Services

Hope House Addiction services, better known as “Hope House”, is the oldest residential drug rehab facility in Greater Boston. It primarily caters to the needs of adults with substance use disorder (SUD).

The 35,000 square foot facility is located in the Crosstown Section of the New Market neighborhood of Boston, on the Roxbury/South End line. This makes it highly accessible to people from all over the Greater Boston Area. Hope House is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International) and duly licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).

The facility has been instrumental in furthering the practice of treating SUD as an illness rather than a moral failing, a radical idea in mid-20th century Boston. Services offered at Hope House

Hope House offers residential and outpatient programs as well as transitional housing for individuals that have completed a previous recovery program. It offers standard medication-assisted therapy (MAT) as well as counseling and therapy in group and individual settings.

The types of therapy and support that will be received by participants at each of Hope House’s programs are highly individualized and depends on the evaluations made by attending clinicians. Hope House also accepts walk-ins and criminal justice refer
